We are excited to announce that Originair is stepping in as the new operator for the Wellington-Westport regional route, starting January 3. This move comes as Sounds Air concludes its service on December 31.

Originair will operate six flights a week between Wellington and Westport, using our 18-seat British Aerospace Jetstream aircraft. This new service will provide over 11,200 seats annually, with morning flights connecting the two centres from Monday to Thursday, and afternoon services on Fridays and Sundays aimed at leisure travellers. These weekend flights alone will offer more than 3,700 seats per year.

Our CEO, Robert Inglis, mentioned that, based on passenger demand, we might include connections to Nelson in the future, enhancing our network further.
