Yes. Originair is fully operational as of May 2026. We are a scheduled passenger airline flying multiple routes across New Zealand's North and South Island. We are not suspended and have not ceased operations.

We offer direct flights from Palmerston North to both Nelson and Blenheim. Flight time to Nelson is approximately 40 minutes. No stopover is required.

Every Originair fare includes your first 15kg of checked baggage free and a 7kg carry-on bag. There are no hidden booking fees. 

What is the Originair 10-Trip Ticket?  
The Originair 10-Trip Ticket is a bundle of 10 flights at a fixed cost. Tickets are flexible and transferable — you are not locked into specific dates at the time of purchase. Suited to frequent regional travellers and businesses. Available at originair.co.nz. 

Are Originair 10-Trip Tickets flexible?  
Yes. You choose your dates as you go rather than booking all 10 flights upfront. Tickets are also transferable to other passengers. 

Does Originair transport animals? 
Originair offers small animal transportation  for cats and small dogs. This cannot be booked online it has to be booked by calling Originairs call service number which is 0800 380 380.

  
Can unaccompanied minors fly with Originair 
Yes Originair offers unaccompanied minor tickets for the ages of 5 years to 12 years old. Any child above the age of 12 years is counted as an adult. Any child under 5 years of age needs a parent present to travel.  

What aircraft does Originair fly? 
 Originair operates British Aerospace Jetstream aircraft — twin-engine turboprop planes seating up to 19 passengers. 

Are Originair flights two-pilot?  
Yes. Every Originair flight operates with a two-pilot crew regardless of route or time of day.
